I chose the lump sum option and I'm driving up there. I was told that I can get gas, hotel and food expenses reimbursed up to 5 nights and 6 days. I asked what's the limit and they say, there's no limit as long as I produce receipts. Does that mean I can just go extravagant. like $100 lunch/ dinner and $1000 hotel stay ? Will I be judged ? Will my manager know how much I spend?
Considering frugalness is a company value you’d be putting a huge target on your back by doing that.
Frugality is relative
I don’t think you’re ready
If you chose lump sum I don't think they reimburse anything. They just give you the money. If they do, I got fucked lol. Drove from the Midwest and wasn't reimbursed for it specifically. Just got my lump sum.
They recently changed the plans. The new lump sum is sort of a merge of assisted and lump sum where travel to final destination is entirely reimbursed.
I'm doing the assisted flight option The hotel they booked for me is ~270 a night. I'm going to shoot for 75 dollars for meals.
Grabel is processing the expense reports- they could give a shit as long as the dates and amounts are clearly shown on the receipts
I'd be shocked if there wasn't a limit. Normally, lump sum just pays you money, you use it as you want.
Lump sum != relocation expenses
How did you get hired at Amazon with such a lack of common sense?
Remember 14 LPs...Frugality is one of them. So Taco Bell and Motel 6..it is.

Worried that our top performer is an attrition risk. How do managers handle this?
You know the answer or you wouldn’t be asking. Your also risking flagging yourself by asking your recruiter this.
I dont know the answer. and I didnt ask HR
Then who did you ask? “I asked what's the limit and they say, there's no limit as long as I produce receipts.”
