Amazon SDE 2 to Microsoft
I got promoted Q1 this year to SDE2 at Amazon and I am thinking joining Microsoft because I want to be chilled in life. My TC is around 195k due to stock appreciation, I have total 2 year experience at Amazon and before that I was in college. I want a 20% pay bump ideally. Can Microsoft make this happen? Just want to get an idea first before I start spending time leetcoding

I make more than 20% more than you do (albeit due to stock appreciation) and have a more chill job than an amzn job. I'm sure you can match or beat it at several companies at this point. Several companies offered me 200k total comp three years ago, so I think what you're asking is competitive

Short answer: no.
Msft pays less than amzn. And you currently got a nice TC due to stock appreciation , not because of the market value. Going to msft with 2 yoe, you probably get way less.
Fu*k u ... I have 10 years experience and not made 190k yet in ms, u wanna make more than me in ms with only 2 years experience? No way!
Plz - if you think it’s chilled and you are Coming for it , you won’t survive long
They can for senior roles but you have to have a competing offer to match or current comp at higher level as it will probably be out of band and will require executive approvals
Senior role for 2yoe? Not at Microsoft. May be 61 or at max if you are rockstar highest package for 61.
