So I read not so positive things about Amazon, and especially the org I might be joining it. Apparently there are free 🍌 s, are they organic btw? Let's call what I do as consulting/freelance as in I just do my own thing.. Is it worth for me to try relocating and making it work in Amazon? Will it be easy to move to another company if something goes wrong? Will I be able to make things work the way I want to if I put effort in it? As in flexibility on time, the way I do work, etc I just like solving problems and I don't really see many options where I could solve problems large scale just by myself.. I'll have to move from LA to Seattle and I liked the cleaner air part.. At what TC would it make sense also to accept? Any companies out there looking for bright problem solver? I can't seem to find really good companies out there. (and it doesn't seem like I want to relocate to Bay area, at least in this lifetime)
Clean air will be the last thing u worry about when ur contemplating quitting everyday. But depends on team i guess
They are #freeTrade 🍌
Nope Amazon and prob most big corp engineering is not for you. It’s a team sport
well OP said thats the reason to join big company. To work with others. Just not all the time in office etc
Maybe I misunderstood the stream of consciousness, but it seemed like OP was saying he wants to do his own thing and work by himself
So much negativity before joining. I’m just gonna say this. FAANG isn’t for everyone. Each company in FAANG has a unique culture and likewise for Amazon. You usually will know in your first or second month if you enjoy these type of environments, and you will find the answers to all your questions. Your experience also highly depend on your team and manager. (There are good teams with WLB and manager)
It's what I read here, not like I made stuff up. And it's better to know all negatives before joining, not after?
On Blind you would always hear more negative than positive. Consider people who loved Facebook, they wouldn’t post incessantly on Blind that they love the WLB and culture. But yes it’s good to get mentally prepared, which team are you going into?
So are people happy generally?
50/50. Perfectly balanced, like all things should be.
You don’t need bananas to be organic. Conventional are considered safe to eat in terms of contaminant exposure
Too many ifs bruh. You are PIP material.
Coming from the real Bezos you better believe it.
Is this trolling or real?
