Amazon SDE L5 Offer seems lowball?

Got an offer from Amazon SoCal. YOE: ~2 yr 155k+75+55k+40k = 210~220 TC AFAIK I should probably ask for more RSU/sign on. What target do you think would be good to ask for? (like ask for 90 RSU and negotiate to 85) Thanks in advance!

40k worth of RSUs? Or 40 RSU count? In both cases its low.

Arista Networks fDut32 OP Jun 26, 2019

75 shares of RSU. 55k and 40k are sign on for 1st and 2nd year.

GoDaddy hola-amigo Jun 26, 2019

Ah totally misread the numbers. I think you should push for more RSU count, somewhere close to ~100

I have a lower offer and I have a ten years of experience and a masters degree. This is not remotely lowball for your experience or within the band

Arista Networks fDut32 OP Jun 26, 2019

I see.. Yeah too harsh to say its a lowball. Its mid-tire I guess.

If you come to amazon, the first thing you have to realize is that there’s no frills and pay isn’t going to be great compared to other tech companies in the same tier. Bezos thinks everyone else should be frugal
