Amazon SDE2 expectations
Hi, I am currently working for a startup and will be joining Amazon as SDE 2 from next month. I have read a lot about how grueling Amazon can be. I was wondering what can I do to be better prepared and also what are generally expected from SDE 2 at Amazon. Thanks! Current TC: 120K Offered TC: 215K

Amazon is so huge it depends on the team. The team i was on had pretty good wlb and my tc was 230k as sde 2 also

Congrats btw! SDE2 are expected to have a certain level of independence and complete ownership of what they create. You will engage in challenging engineer discussions and be expected to lead them and mentor SDE1s. That’s the gist but obviously internal documents say a lot more.
Highly team dependent. If you get put on a team you don't like, don't hesitate to GTFO ASAP. Do *not* linger or you'll be pipped.
