I was offered an SDE3 position at Amazon. I have 9 years of experience. The offer is 150k in base salary, 160k in RSU vesting over 4 years and and a sign on bonus of 80k for 2 years Is this a good offer for Amazon. I make around 175k in base currently with 10-12% annual bonus every year (edit) Thank you all for your replies. I was down leveled to SDE 2 and My rsu was increased to 180k And bonus to 90k. The recruiter said that I could get to SDE 3 in a year if i perform well.
Seems low, that’s $190k in TC. Are you sure it’s an SDE-3 offer and not a 2? (Ignoring the fact that the vesting schedule is 5-15-40-40 and averaging over 4 years)
Seattle or bay area? Low for bay area. Salary cap for bay area is 180k. Also see www.comp.fyi
Which location?
Assuming this is for Seattle, the base is fine (it's always low at Amazon), but the stock is way low for SDE3. It sounds for SDE2 (if not less). The bonus is also low. The bonus for SDE 1 (college grad) , was 50k few years ago. Get a competing offer and negotiate.
This is sde2 offer.
Too low. I have the exact offer for l5
Way too low. Your SDE3 offer is even lower than my SDE2 offer.
If Bay or Seattle this is low. If Chicago or similar, take.
80k over 2 years or 80k/yr? Regardless it seems tad bit low n
