Amazon SDE3
I interviewed for SDE3 at amazon. They made a verbal offer for solution architect instead of SDE3. Is this a common practice? Would I be able to switch later?

Once you’re inside Amazon you can switch to anything. Especially anyone can become an SDM or SDE interview bar raiser. I’ve seen web devs, tpms, qaes becoming sdm. Try that instead of SDE3.
Completely different role. Would be hard to switch and probably require a new interview.

Sdm and sde3 are very different. One requires technical competency and one doesnt.
