Amazon Scout opportunity
Recruiter from Amazon Scout reached out to me and next step is the first technical phone screen. Position is in Seattle and I am in the SF Bay Area. Recruiter gave me the impression that this position is fixed in Seattle and I would have to relocate if I were to be selected. As it would be a big decision for me to relocate in the future, just wondering what’s the culture like, opportunities, etc. in the Scouts team? Background: Firmware YOE: 6 Base Pay: $175K
You can change teams whenever you want, so don’t worry too much if you like the concept. Note you’ll get a shave on the base pay, it’s capped at 160k in Seattle, but you’ll get a big signing bonus and RSU.
While it’s been publicly told it is the case, it isn’t always true :) I know ppl with > 160 base in Seattle in the same job family :) BUT, it is 90% true :)
It’s possible but can’t be more than 185k! then. Honestly I’m tired of the BS cause I haven’t gotten a base hike in 2 years now cause I’m capped at 185k
Typically positions are for a specific team and if your team is located in Seattle, it’s fixed. You should bring it up early if you don’t want to relocate to confirm it’s not just for Seattle only. You can also switch teams once you moved .... then I suppose why would you do all the work to begin with
