Amazon Visa Denial/TN Rejection

Jun 5 14 Comments

What does Amazon do if it seems like you’re ineligible for TN status or your Visa gets denied?

What’s the approximate timeline and what options do you have for team matching?

Signed an offer with Amazon Seattle, Canadian in Toronto, would prefer to stay in NA

Well good that they are pushing you for Vancouver. Any thoughts on how they will treat your comp?

I also didn’t know that RFE was a thing with TN, I guess you didn’t apply at POE ?

Why would you be ineligible for TN?

Non-CS background, I had offers from Citadel and Two Sigma that got rescinded due to lack of CS degree, so looking at alternatives there too

What’s the time line like? You go through team matching or some sort of lighter interview rounds?

I have a start date and I’d also like to take some time off between my current work, but if it’s risky I’d rather not

This is bad news: salaries in Toronto and Vancouver are usually only half of their U.S. counterparts (when converted to U.S. dollars). Plus income taxes are high in Ontario and BC (not to mention at the federal level). Do you have a plan B?
