I received an offer from AWS Trusted Advisor. Pay is better than company A (investment bank) and the profile I have at company A is a mix of machine learning and Software engineering. I am about to graduate next week. I got selected into H1B lottery this week and ironically I received an email from immigration attorney on the very same day I was going to write them about not joining them. Amazon immigration lawyer advised me to join after October 1st,2018 but my recruiter is not agreeing with that process. Should I continue to work for A or should I accept an offer from AWS? I will have to cancel this year's h1b process if I opt for AWS Thanks!
Everyone on H1B switched job right after they got I-797C which is around July. What’s wrong? Am I missing something? If Amazon says they can wait for you to start in Oct then this is heaven in the making.

IMHO I’d go for AWS because of the flexibility it gives you if you end up not liking the job. Once in Amazon you’ll have a huge variety of opportunities in AI/ML open for you to take. Plus, I’m sure that, in the big numbers, average chances of having a better work-life balance in AWS will be higher than in IB. AWS is known to be tough, but the internal job market is so fluid that you can easily switch in 6 months or so. Good luck!
The only issue is I will have to cancel this year's h1b if I accept the Amazon
Then force to delay it. It’s probably the best lever you have once you’re accepted. Maybe the job gets filled, but recruiting will do whatever they can to relocate you to a good job, and there’s plenty. Amazon needs talent to grow and you proved to be a good fit, so they can make these concessions.
