Amazon announced some time ago that it will get into health care segment. Any one has any insight into what the company is doing and what teams are involved in it.
They acquired pillpack and separately announced their rollout of a cheaper supermarket chain that when put together makes it seem as if they are interested in competing with CVS/Walgreens on the pill pushing front.
I hope they acquire my company so my equity will worth something...
How’s Oscar health?
This is great folks. Thanks for these pointers .
Mixing a few things here. Haven (joint venture between Amazon, JPMC, and Berkshire) is an experiment of a new way to deliver and pay for healthcare for the employees of the 3 companies. Not part of Amazon. Separately, Amazon bought PillPack and is likely building out a healthcare supply chain business to disrupt traditional pharmacy/medical suppliers. Third, AWS announced Comprehend Medical, an extension of their NLP solution to read and understand medical documentation (clinical notes). Finally, AWS sells cloud computing solutions to hospitals, insurance providers, pharma companies, etc just like they do to every other industry.
Looks like Amazon also has this worldwide healthcare team. Any idea what they do?
It's called Haven. Google it.
