Amazon development manager interview

Just want to share my recent interview experience for the benefit of these trying to get an offer for dev manager position at Amazon 1. The recruiter contacted me through LinkedIn. I did a SDM online assessment. 2. The recruiter was probably very busy, often forgot my appointments, but did a prep phone call before on-site, which was a surprise. 3. On-site needs knowledge of their leadership principles, try to associate your answers with them. I did well with the bar raiser because he even said: hope to persuade me joining Amazon. 4. Also need system design and architecture knowledge 5. Even though the recruiter told me there is no coding, but the hiring manager tested me on coding, which I was not prepared. :-) Later the recruiter actually complained about the hiring manager to me, awkward! Overall experience was pretty neutral. Amazon is not my top pick, so I don’t have hard feelings. Hope it benefits someone.

So all sys design and just 1 coding? How many leadership/behaviorial interviews?

Cisco BlindShare OP Oct 12, 2017

Approximately: 1 +0.5 +0.5 leadership/behavioral; 0.5 coding; 0.5 +1 system/architecture design

Did you have a phone screen? How did you prepare for these leadership questions?
