Amazon engineers have to get AWS certified?

I heard a rumor that all engineers that join Amazon have to get AWS certified. True? If so, is it some public certification?

No truth to this.

Not at all. It would be good if you have any knowledge with respect to cloud. (It is good to have not a must)

Forcing employees to take a certification so that they can continue helping the company even after leaving? Sounds like Amazon 🤷‍♂️

Lol what? Who’d you hear that from?

No. You get certified automatically at your daily job :)

There's a super easy intro to aws course that is optional to take as part of the new hire training for sde roles.

Join acloud.guru (29 USD / month). They have excellent material for preparation. I am giving 2 exams next week. Its not mandatory, but AWS is an excellent platform and it won't hurt you if you learn it. I think if you are a part of Amazon consulting group, the certification is required.
