I do have a question about joining Amazon. My to-be manager seems very lost and lawyers from fragomen take ages to respond. Does amazon re-file in case of a h1b transfer denial? Is this a legit question to ask? Last time when I asked manager and recruiter, they said it is not policy to plan worst case decisions in advance and they said they will have to ask others since for this role and in their organization they haven't seen a single denial. I know the some orgs. send you to an offshore office in case you don't get picked in lottery., so is this similar case for denials? What is the best way to get this information. Does anayone have experience coming back?
- Oh.. So basically if I join on receipt and somehow it gets denied, Amazon cannot refile petition? My h1b is valid till 2020. I know I've heard in some cases at Facebook where candidate had to leave country for a week and application was refiled and he was then brought back. Was wondering if there is something similar for Amazon. My education and past experience is all in order. Wage level 2 and have a related masters. However I'm worried since my soc code is changing from data scientist to operations research analyst and wage going from level 3 to level 2 (relocating from Texas so even my low salary was pretty high for the msa)
- Amazon / MgmtBigMasterI dont know about the exact case... but once you join Amazon and u loose ur work status.. u cannot work for amazon usa.. but they plan to relocate u to other countries and still work for amazon...
I have seen cases where sdes on opt dont get selected for h1b... then they have to relocate to other countries... in such cases, amazon provides all the support so that u can work in other country... it is possible that u may not be able to work because of visa issues for a while....Dec 41
- Oath xkcdlmoreWorst case: Work for a non profit university by building professional relation with the director/ deputy director of systems/ it research. You can be h1b cap exempt. Good for those non immigrants who strictly like working and living in US.
