I have seen a lot of people joining Amazon recently as SDE 1/2. Most of these people have a very poor background in coding and computer science in general. What’s wrong with Amazon? Current TC: ~250k
Had a bad on-site huh?
Tc? Thanks for updating. The right thing to do here is to aggressively challenge these employees to "coding battles" then when they accept your challenge ignore them like you have no idea what they are talking about. When they ask you to put up report them to HR for being aggressive. Pretend to sincerely apologise than wink at them and blow kisses when people aren't looking.
That rings the bells of old Arthur Andersen
Ever heard about proxy interviews? Many of these new grads have been proxy-ing assessments and then the follow up phone call(final step) is just a verification step in which the interviewer mainly asks the logic for assessment’s solution.
Failed phone screen?
The system aggressively pushes underperformers out.
Thanks for including your TC. Really clarifies things here.
judgmental, much?
It is no secret that our hiring bar has been in a free fall over the past several years.
I have noticed many emails of interns coming from MIT, CMU, Stanford, etc. Some are even getting PhDs. Seems fishy. Hiring bar must be going down. 🤔
