Manager called, told what team it is and asked my work exp and couple of questions regarding distributed systems, said “COOL” for every thing I said and hung up the call. Now scheduling the phone interview.
Informational interviews are still interviews, but you’re judged on the quality of your questions. Ask questions related to your role that show you really know how to do it, not that everything you know is from a book. Also, have an awesome elevator pitch together.

Ask what leadership principles stand out for this role/team and projects that they work on demonstrating those principles
