Amazon interview

Hello Everyone,

I have an in person AWS interview for a Cloud Infrastructure Architect in NYC and has a few questions...

What should I wear?(I've heard to avoid suits)
What salary should I shoot for? Is there a range?
What can I do to prepare for the interview?
I bought a whiteboard to practice whiteboarding solutions.
I wrote out all the leadership principles and wrote out examples. I have to reformat them into STAR.
Should I bring copies of my resume?
Should I bring my notes or just try to memorize them?

I also have my SA Associate Certification and working towards developer this week.

Thank You ahead of time for responses!

7 years experience. And yes but I think it's just a fancy title. I'll be traveling over 50% coming up with solutions for different customers.

No suits, no notes or resumes. Don’t memorize anything, just prepare what you can.

Memorized stuff generally makes you act artificial, instead try to understand stuff.

Thank you! I was wondering I'm also a volunteer firefighter. If I related calculated risks with firefighting would that be okay or are they looking for more related to previous job? The example I wrote down is related to previous job but I was curious.

What matters is that your examples are tied to the LPs and answer the questions asked. Volunteer work definitely counts but make sure to give examples from your professional background too.

LPs are observed through anecdotes, although work as volunteer firefighter counts, it would be great to have something closely relevant to the job you’re applying to.

Yea that makes sense. Just figured that would be a more drastic reason for calculated risks lol

Study up on Amazon leadership principles, make sure you understand basic AWS services and architecture. Study white papers for well architected framework, EC2, VPC and S3 at a minimum. Make sure you understand immutable infrastructure and infra as code.
