Hello, I've been given a selection of low/high spec macbook and misc. HP laptops. Choosing a lower spec laptop lets me also pick a desktop to work on. Should I just choose my preference (high spec mac, no desktop), or should I talk to my hiring manager to decide which combination best fits the team's dev environment?
Two 🍌, you get to choose where they go
You also get to choose the size of 🍌 but I must warn you that there’s a cap on that size.
2ft 🍌 always go in the backdoor it's a new rule
They want to optimize for cost and not productivity, hmm
I wouldn't be too concerned, you'll be so busy sending and receiving tickets that you will rarely open your IDE.
Mac book + cloud desktop. No one uses physical desktop now
This. Rely on your Mac as primary laptop. Can be useful during on call and WFH
Thanks for the tip! How about dual 27" monitors vs a single curved 34"? I don't have any experience developing on a 34". Is it easier to manage a cloud desktop with dual monitors (what I'm used to)?
