I have an offer from AWS for a L5 role. The recruiter (and levels.fyi) seems to indicate the offer is at the high-ish end of the L5 range. I have a better offer from Okta on the table and will likely have one from Apple next week as well. No negotiation done yet. Any guidance on how possible it is to push them for an L6 level? The offer they made is actually a bit of a pay cut from what im making now. I just acted happy and said i would go over everything. They know about the other companies.
Was your loop for an L5 or L6? If it was L5 loop, then yes you can push for L6 offer. If it was an L6 look, then no, they already downleveled you and will not change there mind.

L5 can be as high as 290-310k
Just tell them it won't work and ask for a better offer or L6. They might put you through another design round . L5 tops around 250-270k
