I gave the online round for Amazon role for an SDE position in their London office. Unfortunately I hadn't prepared well and wasn't able to pass the round. Only got 1 out of 2 questions correctly pass tests . What's worse is when I was in Uni couple of years ago I had interned at Amazon and got a job offer which I declined later. Does this now permanently hurt my chances of interviewing again at Amazon in future ? I hope I'm not banned or blacklisted now. My recruiter never told me any cool down period after which I can try again.
Of course you aren't blacklisted.
I asked my recruiter the same but they never replied back about a cool down period or anything else . So wanted to confirm what's going on.
It's usually 6 months to a year. Don't count on Amazon recruiters to stay in touch once the interview process is over.
No, and don’t worry too much about not getting the Amazon offer. It is not a good company anyway.
It's still a FAANG company and opens a lot of doors. Plus my previous internship was really good experience only the TC was much lower than had been offered by other firms so I had to reject them.
You need to separate amazon and apple and netflix from FG
No you are not blacklisted. It’s usually 6 months. It might just be your off day, I wouldn’t stress too much about it. You can always apply later or to a different location like Dublin, Paris, etc. where you don’t need to wait for cool down. (I know quite odd they don’t share interview results, I had internship offers from 4 Amazon office locations at the same time, imagine going through similar online round and phone screen many times that was my experience)
