How do you computer target TC at Amazon? Is it the same as year 1 offer TC? And how do stock refreshers work at Amazon? Is there any performance bonus at Amazon? TC 200, YOE 2
No bonus, pretty much non existent refreshers until your initial grant is out
Manager decides a number. That's the TCT. It usually grows every year. Based on the TCT, they deduct your base salary and existing grants **at current price**, and divide by the stock price at a certain point in time (for new hires, average of previous month, for everyone else, average of February), with 15% added for each year removed. Then they divide the stock comp by this price: that's your stock grant, if it's greater than zero. For years 2-4 it usually is not.
TCT would be a great compensation philosophy if it was actually competitive with other tech companies. People join because they expect the stock to blow them pass their TCT.
Deduct? this was confusing. Can the TC get lower after year 1/2?
