Based on the TCT, they deduct your base salary and existing grants **at current price**, and divide by the stock price at a certain point in time (for new hires, average of previous month, for everyone else, average of February), with 15% added for each year removed. Then they divide the stock comp by this price: that's your stock grant, if it's greater than zero. For years 2-4 it usually is not.
