Amazon/MSFT relocation to Bangalore?
Is it possible to join Amazon/MSFT in the Bay Area and relocate to Bangalore after 1 year? Also, do you keep your original stock grant if you do that?

Keep in mind that once you relocate, the stock refreshes will be based on Bangalore prevailing wage, so expect to get nothing for the next few years until the US stocks tapers off..
Oh that’s interesting. I thought you would get the regular Bangalore based refreshers. Is this the case for Google, Microsoft and Uber too?
For Amazon, the refreshes are given to make sure you meet the total compensation target, so you will get very nominal ones as you will already be exceeding the range. Don't know about the other companies.
Looking at Google and Uber too, know a bit about their transfers but don’t know much about Microsoft and Amazon.
At Microsoft 18-24 months would be the norm. 1 year maybe tight
What would happen to the Sign on bonus if someone transfers to India after the first year in Amazon? Do they get that component for the second year?
