Amazon's Background check

I have one shady work history. Basically I ran into one of those shitty desi scam tech company when I was switching my career from non-tech to tech. I had no idea back then. I should have researched, but I was just desperate for a tech position at that time and was just blindly happy that I got the tech position. I worked (got trained) there for about 4 months and ran out before they were trying to that shady fake resume thing. Now working for a legitimate company from contract to hire. 3 months contract and it's been two years after turning into the full time. I just got a verbal confirmation that I got the job from Amazon. Wondering whether I should put that as a part of my work history or not. I did put that as a part of resume though (I don't know why I chose to do so.) Otherwise, I'm not afraid at all. Any advice will be appreciated.

Well, I'm also kind of afraid what they are going to say about the gap and inconsistency of the resume. Majority of my coworkers who I seek advice from say don't put it.

Didn't your post say you already got the job?

Got a verbal confirmation. I'm talking about the peperwork that will come in the future.

By omitting details, I feel like you are just raising more questions and it will screw you over even worse. What you described isn't even bad. You made a bad decision joining a crappy company. Not sure how that is bad at all.

I agree. My guts and personality tells me to put it. Also, I'm assuming there are very high chances that they might not even ask. But all of the coworkers around me tell don't put it. So I'm really really confused.

But the concern is... I don't know about others, but this has been my dream job. Working for FAANG has been my dream since I started to think about the tech career. And I really don't want anything get in the way. I really am desperate for this position, especially now I think I'm almost there.

Chances are you will be fine. Also, do tell us about desi shady business. As a non-desi I have a keen interest.

ADP VCfV62 OP Aug 28, 2019

I will be fine leaving off or providing? Well, no offense to Indian btw. A matter of fact, two of my closest coworkers are Indian. Having said some disclaimers, there are companies out there that they tell you they will train you. Usually target people with no visa status, no work exp, college grad, not from tech etc.. They lure them to train them and one day boom. They will tell you that they will fake your resume to 5~6 years exp and send them to different companies. And in between they will take the portion of your contract wages/salary whatever. They target only contract to hire positions (because they will have to be faking those docs). Even worse, I've seen them faking official documents like DL and visa. Pretty shady, isn't it?

Either way is cool. Take it easy. No one will dog too deep about position which you held for 3 months. As far as I understand, you have enough legitimate experience to apply for the position. Also, thanks for sharing. I encountered candidates who have their resume padded beyond limits. It’s obvious and was reflected in my interview feedbacks. :-p

More than Amazon, USCIS will be more interested(if you require H1B).

Fortunately I don't require visa status.
