There is no other way to put this. America has degraded to the status of a third world country. Citizens, non citizens and everyone here are harassed for the sake of the rich. Everything is designed to make the rich richer. Millennials and younger are especially fucked because they will pay for the nonsense fiscal deficits, climate disasters and international alienation. That is on top of the student debt and opioid crises and insane healthcare you already have at the young age of 21. I'm sorry. The old farts voted into power don't care about you. https://youtu.be/7JNq_SUDpqY
Yes, that's probably why people act like Chicken Little.
Not enough to pay for the higher deficits
Dude has been saying the same shit for 20 years. Oddly he got less attention when Obama was in office ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ
People canât be this delusional.
Dems are
American "democracy" is a joke. But then again, most governments around the world are no better.
In some sense, it has been on life-support for a long time now. Glad people are waking up! Now if the intent is to fix the system for good, we're all together. If the scope is limited to addressing the first bullet on the slide alone, then the goal/agenda is wrong! (I didn't click the link - sipping my regular kool-aid from Sunday morning shows).
Democratic ideals and practices have certainly been dampened over the last few decades. But I think this is an international issue. In Greece for example, the demands of austerity capitalism during the recession literally trumped (no pun intended) internal Democracy as the so-called Troika of European financial agencies called economic shots. Around the same time China was brutally repressing strike waves, and governments repressed Arab spring revolts. Since the recession a split between the desires of populations and the needs of governments to push more austerity and increase competition between countries over their shares of a much slower global economic growth rate has become more exposed. Democracy is a barrier to this austerity and competition so governments are rolling back rights and nationalist and fascist movements have gained traction and a degree of acceptance from some parts of the ruling mainstream parties - if all else fails, nationalism and fascism will force people into line. Unfortunately austerity and demoralization are not the best situation for popular push-back and democratic movements. But like with Tunisia, if thereâs a win somewhere (like say a strike wave in China really breaks through) then it will inspire people here and elsewhere.
America is a Republic. Democracy is distributed evil. Republic protects us from evil.
Daddy knows whatâs best for us. He protects us from ourselves and only hits us for our own good.
Yes. I can see the old people being protected from the evil youngsters trying to go to college for lesser tuition. How evil are they? Of course when we went to college with lesser tuition, that was all ok. But youngsters doing it now is just pure evil
The thing is, it is in the nature of democracy (aka mob rule) to spend the wealth of the rich and the future today. Fuck the rich and the children, if we can have shit today.
Lol, yeah - the profit seeking rich are so forward thinking that they are compelled to invest in bubbles even when they know a crash is coming; strip-mine/clear-cut/overfish until they get to a point that it hurts their own bottom line (then itâs a âproblemâ); suck shale and the bottom of the ocean for fuel because itâs a quick buck compared to other sources that will require more time and show a smaller return. Letâs have some mob rule for a change. One person, one vote â who the fuck would think that would still be a radical position in the 21st century.
I'm not suggesting otherwise. Just not surprised at all that the system collapses like Greece every little while. Democracy is inherently unstable and self contradictory. It runs on emotion not thought.
ok
