Anxiety and Impostor Syndrome in the office (Eng.)

Had a quickly rising career out of University over the first 4 years. Past two or so burned out and struggled to keep up the level of work I was putting in before. Every time I try to go back it seems harder and I burn out quicker. On top of that my skills are getting rustier since I haven't been progressing which doesn't help anything. Has anyone recovered from this / experienced this kind of shit cycle and broken out from it consistently? I derive basically 100% of my self worth from hard work / achievement and it has got to the point where I'm considering a complete career change since nothing I've tried seems to leave me comfortable in the office. My company has been very understanding, I'm worried the environment there might be part of the problem but switching jobs seems dangerous lest the same symptoms occur immediately upon starting. Saw a decent therapist for about a year but didn't really end up with much in the way of tools to deal with it. Basically experience quite severe anxiety in the office to the point where I can't concentrate. Drags out well after I've left for the day and often spins me out for an entire weekend leading to depression that can last weeks if I'm not careful. TLDR: worked hard, got promoted lots, burned out, tried to return, burned out again, begun getting bad anxiety / imposter syndrome, can't function anymore in the office. How do I break the cycle? Or do I just do something drastic like change careers?

How do we all fix this? I tried to go to psychologist and tried mindfulness. It helped me a bit but not up to the mark

Same boat. Taking things slow will help.

Change jobs, ideally different company not just role. The adrenaline of a new environment will help you push yourself

Try to get on a new project with new team members. I always try to get a fresh start this way. Also remember the bad habits you got into before and try to design around them. Also, take time off on the weekends. Get a feature phone for the weekend and DO NOT answer work or do work when you are off. Listen to Jocko read his first book and get after it.

Try to get some free time. Reduce busy-work/meetings/chit- chat. If not that, then wake up early to give yourself few hours each day. For me, it helps me focus, plan and be productive. Helped me get out of this cycle 3 times.
