I have a L6 phone interview lined up. I’m reviewing some of the older threads and it sounds like an external hire into L6 is as rare as a Bigfoot sighting. Has anyone EVER been hired into an L6 at Amazon? edit: let’s scope this to tech roles
Never
I am not sure why you think this is rare. I assume you mean tech as non tech it seems everyone is a 6 or above.
Dumb
If you're salary don't fit in the L5 band, they give you L6. L6 is significantly higher at Amazon. They hire directors from other companies at L5 and VP as L6.
Please please - microsoft Seniors get as L6 easily (some even got L7). I am coming from amazon - so don’t lie. Also in amazon there are many who became L6 in 3-4 years (from college hires)
Not in tech.
I’ve hired a few myself (tech).
Yes
We had l6 sde hired from msft.
It is not rare at all
Such a silly question
