Lime HR recruiter failed me before I got to technical lmao bc I wouldn’t tell her the names of other companies that had given me offers.

This was for a small fintech firm and the position was for an entry level SWE position. He spent the entire interview poorly asking brain teasers and I constantly had to correct him on the prompts because the way he phrased them didn’t make any sense. I got one wrong and he got super pissed off and pretty much ended the interview there with no code written or talked about. English wasn’t his first language so I can’t blame him to much for butchering most of those prompts, but it baffled me that he didn’t even ask any behavioral questions or talk about the company or even ask a programming question for a SWE position! I’m guessing he just didn’t want to be there but honestly who knows.

Had horrible interview with @amazon ..the guy was recent transfer from India...he was asking behavioral question but belittling the my experience...it seemed like he felt like I was lying...or that the story was not impactful....it seemed like the process is to eliminate people vs selecting

I got asked to leave the building because I preferred a Sealy over a Posturepedic ✌️

I once took a day off from work to take a train into nyc for a second interview for a “marketing assistant” job which ended up being one of those people with clipboards on the sidewalk pyramid schemes 🙃 literally was in a suit with heels standing outside in july humidity watching someone pester people outside of bryant park for 4 hours.

True story - I worked for a company that was building a porn-blocking filter and we tried to hire some experts in the field. We had a star candidate (ML engineer) from one of the major social networking companies show up. The interview was just meant to be your run of the mill leetcode-style questions. After the regular questions, he decides to show us cases where our porn filter was failing and that too with some very explicit porn. Made all of us interviewers, which included women, very uncomfortable.

Passed 5 hours of difficult FB strategy interviews to fail on the SQL part because the interviewer cut my time short from 30 min for 3 questions to 20 min for 3 questions. She never mentioned the number of questions or helped me manage the time like most interviewers are trained to do. 18 YOE for a strategy job, 2 perfect SQL answers and it all fell apart over a few minutes and one question. Just got promoted recently anyway so probably would have turned them down. Kind glad I'm not going back to FB. Don't think it's the same company I left 2 years ago.

After one last minute cancellation, they set up another 45min meeting. The interviewer came five minutes late. After 10 min he got a call from a “customer” and left for 10 min. He came back and just about to start, the nanny called, he came back then the son called... So, we interrupted four times. At the end of 45 min he said we are out of time but I will set up follow up meetings. That was the last I heard from them.
