Hi there - I am tired of standing every day in the BART and wondering if there are any good recommendations for portable chair that’s comfy when trains are overcrowded. Have looked up few on amazon but not sure if they would be helpful or not. Again, I don’t want to trouble people around me but still want to have my own comfort zone. I am 5’9” 190 lbs. I just want to sit and commute. :(
Quit that job!
Or wake up earlier
5’6 200 pounds here... I know it’s tough :)
Travel to India or China, you’ll definitely find something! :)
I'm 6'1" and I got the Walkstool Comfort 22". It's pretty good, though I luckily don't have to use it very often. The feet tend to bounce a little during the ride, causing it to collapse slightly and need a quick "spreading" readjustment every couple stops to push the sitting surface back to flat. I only use it in the dumb 3-across cars as there is enough room next to the single seats for me to recreate the seat that should be there anyway. The new train cars are going to suck for stooling as there is much less blank wall space to put a stool.
Call a Lyft. They'll send a portable chair for you until your destination!
If you have time, you can go back 2-3 stations in reverse direction of your commute and board from that not so crowded station. You will get seats.
