Any thoughts on West New York, NJ for buying a house

I’m looking at houses in West New York, NJ. This seems to be an unexplored area. You can reach Times Square (PABT) in literally like 25 mins ? Not sure what the catch is. Jersey City and other places in Manhattan are literally unaffordable.

Gotcha. I was thinking more from an investment perspective. Buy at a medium price and get a cash flow of 6-10%. Even though it’s a bad School district, people who work in the city still prefer staying in areas closer to the city with easy access to transportation. Thoughts ?

You’ll know which areas in Jersey have good schools cuz they’re more expensive

  • Don’t forget NJ property tax is one of the highest in the US. In NY, you pay to landlord, in NJ you pay to state. If property tax is 10k per year, you will pay 300k to state in 30 years. 10k is usually for 2 bedroom apartments

Gotcha. So good for people who only care about the commute and price.

It's less nice and probably has worse schools. That's really the only catch
