Anyone at Wayfair hear about the threats from Chinese employees?
Apparently there's a WeChat group of Chinese employees at Wayfair that are very pro-China and are threatening a Wayfair employee that's trying to bring awareness to the Hong Kong protest situation. Wonder if this will blow up as a big HR issue...
If you haven’t been to Hong Kong and seen the real situation there yourself I think you’d better just not make judgement on it. There is fake news from both western media and Chinese media apparently.
No offense but the HK employee can build awareness on his friends not colleagues (fyi I'm personally pro HK)
They could have reported the situation to HR. Instead , they’re threatening an employee
It's funny you take things at face value. I'm sure "threatening" is a gross exaggeration in this case. Probably they're just arguing. OP provided no evidence whatsoever is trying to spread rumours.
I'll find the blog posts later. But it's already been reported to HR and they sided with the employee because it was just trying to raise awareness in a work slack channel meant for that. The WeChat thread had discussions about whether they should hire gang members to attack the individual organizing the awareness meeting.
