Also, how’s the ESPP plan at NXP?
2-10% of your base salary over a 6 month period to purchase stock at 15% discount.
I'm in China. Pay is decent in semiconductor industry. Senior G3 you probably get 10K$ RSU, G4 get 20K$, over 3 years.
Do you guys know what are base pay levels in bay area?
Hello people @NXP. I am looking for a referral. I would really appreciate if you can help me :)
Is there a specific NXP location you’re interested in learning more about? From my experience at legacy Freescale sites in Austin/Phoenix that are now NXP, work life balance is generally really good. We start off with 22 PTO days and most teams I know don’t have issues with taking off for PTO. Culture overall is mostly driven by the veteran employees— most employees have 15+ years as only in the past 5 years has Freescale/NXP started to bring in new grads again so there is a large age gap. In regards to technical levels, similar to other companies there is a point in career where you can choose to stay tech or move into people management. I believe regardless of path taken the technical levels are G1-G7(?)). G1 and G2 are typically reserved for entry level positions. RSU is not granted until G3+
Thank you so much for the insight. As NXP is acquiring Marvell’s connectivity business, they’ll be starting a new office in Bay area, which will be pretty much occupied by our team itself. Any idea what could be the technical level for a person with MS and 5+ years of exp? And I heard somewhere that NXP doesn’t give RSUs as a part of performance review, is that true?
From my experience, direct managers seem to have a lot of flexibility with when and how they distribute RSUs. Top performers are generally well rewarded. No idea what level you’ll be with your experience, G3 or G4 maybe. HR will probably make a translation chart for the Marvell integration.
