Does it even have a profitable future? They're reaching out, offering an Enterprise solutions architect position. Is it even worth it to entertain?
Oracle is better technology than SAP. We’re just better at marketing and sales
That it definitely is. As much as I agree that our products are not top of the market, Oracle is investing in good talent lately to improve that. PS: I am not endorsing Oracle here. Saying that I am also not saying it’s bad. It is a good company. Just that not all folks have good engineering skills.
SAP has pretty much given up on product engineering
Why don’t both merge and save cost

Chances of meta clearing E5 with screwing up one coding one round and acing all other
Depends on team and pay. Which team are you currently at? AWS? Alexa? Retail? The way I see Amazon has more profitable future than Oracle. Oracle however is a stable company. You can’t expect better refreshers, bonus and hikes at Oracle. About future, if a recession actually hits, there would be layoffs at all the firms, but I see Oracle to be stable then. My reason, we aren’t doing groundbreaking things now. Oracle has amazing customer base and will have the same base. So you have to consider a lot. As for me, I am moving from Oracle to Amazon. So it is worth to entertain it if there is significant bump in TC. If not, then ignore it. If you are reaching a cliff then consider Oracle.
Are you kidding about Oracle stability? The company lays off tons of personnel even during good times.
Don’t get me wrong. Oracle still lays off people in OCI. But there are other several other orgs that have better stability and people aren’t getting laid off. The current Oracle channel is still filled with lay-off posts, but OCI. Again, I myself am leaving to Amazon. But if you join the product teams that work on apps and not OCI, you have a good stability there and you can stick around. Of course, salary is going to take a hit after the stocks vest. I clearly mentioned OP that it is worth entertaining if OP has a cliff coming up or if OP could get significant increase in TC at Oracle.
