What’s you experience? What return are you getting?
The average return im getting is 9%/ year
What’s ur risk rate that u put up?
Mine has been doing well. Opened my Wealthfront account on April 4th this year with $10,000 and set my risk level to 9.0. So far I’m up 14.7%.
To be fair the market is up so much this year that every managed portfolio is going to be up a lot.
Wealthfront invests in broad indexes so their portfolios will generally track the broad market pretty well

I’ve used both betterment and wealthfront. I strongly prefer betterment.
Why?
Better app that shows performance better. Really good articles and user support. Performance is better (but comparable).
I use it. It’s ok but it’s a matter of time until I transfer to vanguard. The benefits aren’t worth paying 0.25% over the next 40 years imo. The tax loss harvesting is only crucial in year one and the portfolio rebalance is nice but not worth 0.25%.
Can u tell me how / why is TLH crucial in year one only?
It’s based on selling at a loss and deferring the tax bill. After year one it’s hard to sell at a loss cause most asset classes have gone up. I suppose you can keep adding to the portfolio but it’s just so much more advantageous to use 401k and Roth for my savings from income so I do that.
Pretty good - I’ve been with them 2 years. However the minute you try to do anything that doesn’t involve depositing money with them, they refuse to help and claim their system isn’t “optimized”. Tried to transfer some shares to a charity before the new tax law kicks in, and they refused to even though they are required to under FINRA rules claiming their system isn’t optimized for it. Also when withdrawing funds, they automatically sell your oldest shares regardless of the tax impact. Feels like their system should be smarter to optimize for tax scenarios when withdrawing funds, considering their TLH strategy. One other thing that drives me nuts - whenever they do TLH, the savings they “claim” you’ll see from it assuming the top federal tax bracket and that you are in the top tax bracket of the highest tax state. Considering you tell them your tax bracket when you sign up, this seems shady
Somehow my returns have been 34% on Wealthfront—that won’t continue—probably because I set it for the highest risk/reward setting. Even then it seems weird and anomalous. I also use Betterment and find it superior, in that it feels more intuitive and transparent, with better customer support and communication.

I have been using wealthfront for over 3 years and i really like it. The tax loss harvesting is very good.
How does the tax loss harvesting work?
