Verbal offer given for 180 base/165 Rsu 4 years/25 sign-on for 10 yrs exp. when I asked for offer letter, just after 2 weeks recruiter said they can only offer 165 base/ 100 rsu 4 years/20k . Recruiter saying ur performance is not good in the interview, so hiring team decided to reduce .How to handle ..
Tell them to go fuck themselves. It's a very bad start imo, it will only get worse.
While I agree with your sentiment, what are the similar or better options available? OP, do you have any other prospects?
I hv other option in Dallas with 135k base
(1) A verbal offer isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on; (2) that sounds like a very broken HR process at Apple
That’s very low for 10 years exp. fuck then
Depends what the role is buddy. Also, f’em
Not worth it
Tell them that you will have to let the broader world know about their handling of this. Apple is such a train wreck for recruiting. At Amazon, offers are always approved by HM before sending out.
Recruiter said initial verbal offer is confirmed by hiring manager. Suddenly after 2 weeks he is changing his words.
This confirms my horrible experience with Apple recruiting for a very senior role. Honestly, series A startups do better on candidate experience. Amazon recruiters may be mixed in quality, and ghost a lot during sourcing, but once we onsite you, you are a customer.
They knew the results of the onsite interview by the time you got the verbal offer. Tell them that all good relationships are built on trust, and that you can’t start a new business relationship under these circumstances. That the only way to rebuild that trust is to honor the verbal offer.
1) N say you would walk off if the original offer is not met. Glad you have another offer. Let them chase you. 2) N politely try to see if you can get the other offer match current Apples offer. Nothing to lose.
+1. If they decline over $15k base how much did they want you? What kind of HM does this?
What site and team? I know another case with similar experience. This is unprofessional.
Stop replying to them, don't pick up phone calls, and look for something else
100 rsu ! I think they are joking - you lol at them
Look somewhere else where they value their words!
If they value their words why did they change the offer. If the candidate didn’t do well they will reject. HR or the hiring manager is playing with candidate here.
