Apple Offer calculation

How does Apple decide comp? Do they level you and keep you in the band? Especially now that in CA they can’t ask for my current compensation.

Currently I make more than a typical ICT4, but I think I’ll be leveled at ICT4. What might happen?

Update : got numbers — ICT4 : 175k base, 225k stock, 40k sign on. It beats my current comp. but can I do better?

They pay third parties for data to generate a competitive offer. They compute a good offer based on offers going to similarly experienced and reviewed candidates from major tech companies. Then they reduce that number by 40% and tell you should be excited about Apple and have 5 days to make a decision before they move to the next candidate.

It’s easy to get an extra 40% when it’s Monopoly money 😉

And min around 155k so you are in the lower middle range.

It’s a good offer. If these are the initial numbers given by them then ask for more base. Which team is it?
