The story sounds outlandish

Bloomberg is pretty well respected though. Outlandish or not, Bloomberg knows their stuff.

Bloomberg is credible.

I have a feeling that Amazon and Apple’s denials are very cleverly worded and should have a thousand asterisks added to them. I don’t think Bloomberg would run something at this level without excellent proof backing it up.

Ok. There are supposedly smart people here. Who can explain how this would have worked? For a chip this small, it must sit on a serial interface. So the only place I could imagine it sitting to even begin to do what is said would be on the SPI bus between the BMC and its ROM. How is that not an encrypted interface? If it is encrypted, how could instructions be inserted? Where / how else could this happen?

I got this one guys: If you’ve being hacked it is because your security layer is weak. Nothing to do with Chinese chip or nachos chip or you got it chip.
