I had been told that my team was very happy with my interview and was told to hold tight as they came up with numbers, but I learnt from the recruiter now that the company had closed the req due to business re-prioritization. Is this a negotiation tactic, or are they slamming the door in my face? TC: 417k YoE: 12+
It sounds pretty clear cut to me, not a negotiating tactic, and not a rejection. They laid you off before you even started. I wouldn’t hold my breath with that.
It happens. Most likely your recruiter had no idea beforehand.
Wow, that sucks
This happened to me with IBM, not unusual but isn't a great look for the company... Look elsewhere and keep options open
So Apple has become like IBM 😂
OP, You make 417k at Intel? 🤔
Itching new at Apple.. when I worked there I was going for another internal role.. 14 interviews later they closed the req cause of budget realignments.. I fumed.. wastes my time.. ultimately moved over to Amazon.. personally I’ve had a great career path and exponentially much more growth in 3 years at Amazon than I did at Apple in 7 years..
Things happen. Ask your recruiter if they are aware of other opportunities in the company. With the amount of experience you should know this is common.
