Hi All, I have finally cleared tech interviews hurdle and now in talks with HR for compensation. Location : Apple Bay area. HR asked for expectations.. This position is for senior physical design engineer with total experience of 7 years. Can you please share some reasonable numbers to ask and expect. Thanks a ton.
Hardware engineers are paid lesser than the software counterparts but apple pays the highest..I've heard folks with similar exp get 150k base + 25k sign on + 100k rsu over 4 years..may be someone from apple can throw in actual numbers
Had a friend get 135k base, 10k sign on, 100k rsu. He had 5 years experience
Wow apple pay is shitty. Hardware is harder than software!
So you are saying apple hardware doesnt generate revenue for apple? Come on now that's bullshit
No, only that there are a shitload of EEs looking for high paying jobs
Around 135-145k base, 100-150k rsu over 4 yrs. really depends on what you are getting paid now. If you are not well paid now, they will lowball you.
BTW how much time does apple take to release the offer... I spoke to HR around 8-10 days back and haven't heard from him after that.. Anything fishy??

Level ICT4. 170k base, 50k signing bonus, 200k initial RSU vesting over 4 years, 10% target bonus. Or at least that's what ICT4 software engineers make. I have no idea what a physical design engineer is or does or if that's more worthy or less worthy than an SDE
