I was offered a software engineering position at Apple two weeks back and I agreed to the verbal offer after two months of interviewing. My recruiter informed me that I will get the official offer letter after the approval from senior management and meanwhile my background check was initiated and completed. Last week I was informed that the roles are on hold due to reorganisation which has caused the hold up for the approval of official offer letter. I have been trying to understand from the recruiter more about it but even he is not sure what happened and exact timeline be. He was supposed to meet the team to get better understanding of the hold today but there is no communication yet. The whole experience has been really disheartning for me because Apple is my dream company and I never thought anything like this could happen. I wanted to know if anything like this happened before and what is the possibility of getting an offer now. Right now it just sucks and feels unfair. Edit: Recruiter informed me they moved people internally and filed the position and the approval didnt go through as headcount was full so there wont be any offer.
Are you planning to join their modem group? If so, expect big delays.
Happened to me recently for a HW role. I was given a verbal offer and then the offer was rescinded.
Did they give any reason?
No reasons given, told that it didn’t go through at top level, but they did contact me if I want to interview with other teams, so I am assuming some org related issues with the position I interviewed for
Which org did you interview with?
It was for HID team.
Consider carefully the way you are treated in the interview process, as this is the best they will ever treat you.
Sounds like typical Apple. Stop having dream companies.
