Apple scheduling tech interview - did I mess up?
I answered the recruiter's scheduling request as follows. Then two days passed. Did I say something wrong, or give too much detail about my other interviews? Each answer was in response to a direct question. === Yes, I'm interested! Please lock in 60 minutes at this link: [calendly link] Let me know if you have any difficulties there? Correct, XXX-XXX-XXXX is the best number to reach me. I am not speaking with any other Apple teams. I have one on-site group interview scheduled for Tuesday in San Francisco. It took a while to schedule something for onsite. Like a week each time. I had my first round and finally onsite at the ring.
It was nice that I did not have to schedule a recruiter call as well. The LI contact barely knew me -- had sent me a "come hither" some years ago. Is a "recruiting manager", but for another team. The recruiter initial email read "The team has reviewed your resume and would like to proceed with a technical phone interview." Very appreciative that some devs looked at my app within 4 hours!
Ghosted. Move on
Ya I had recruiters hit me up and I did the phone calls with them, only to get ghosted for 2-3 weeks until they replied and said something like great news someone is interested in interviewing you. No fucking shit. They shouldn’t have wasted everyone’s time if no one was interested. It all depends on the team. But that happened to me twice. And the third team was more serious and fast tracked me to onsite at the ring for 2 hours, 2 tech interviews with one eng each. And then a half day of onsite final round, 4 tech interviews, 2 engs/hm per, and lunch with a higher up. Got rejected within 2 business days so at least I didn’t get ghosted.
which team? lol I had a similar experience with Apple IS&T. Funny enough, 1 month after ghosted me they call again and want to schedule a phone interview
Seems fine. Sometimes they take time to nail down a schedule, I'd follow up again if you get a week without a response.
