Apple vs Uber offer - what will you chose?
Having offers from Apple as well Uber. Uber offer is more solid than Apple in terms of cash and equity. Apple folks, given an option to earn more and learn more, do you think you will goto Uber or you won’t take the risk? Uber folks, how confident are you that RSU will atleast hold this value till IPO or you all are hoping against hope, please be honest :)

Not even a question. If the comp was just 5-10% more then it would be a question. You are getting a jump from 350k to 450k, which is 400K over 4 years; and entering an exciting domain, impactful product, learning new things, etc. I think the choice is clear! Uber is not a “sinking ship” by far. Business is challenging but our value should be somewhere between 33 and 48 per share (closer to 48, I believe you can assume 45 right now with potential to increase).
That is assuming OP will be based in SF... The rest of the offices are too uncertain...
What do you mean are uncertain? Which office are you referring to? SF/PA/NYC are the main Dev offices in US - there’s no problem at either of them. Don’t know much about Seattle office.

Which companies work and products are you passionate about and want to see flourish and expand?
I like Uber as a product and super liked their team, my only concern is about will it still be as powerful 2-3 years down the line.
Apple if u have a family. Uber if you’re young and single and can move about easily.
What if I have a family but can still put in extra hours to learn new and exciting stuff, wouldn’t Uber be a better choice for my long term growth in that case as compared to slow moving Apple?
It is not just about extra hours but frequent travelling as well... Like flying off in a few hrs notice?

How about in cash only? At the current rate of losing markets (China, Russia, SEA and soon India), I am not sure about our long term value for our stocks... If cash is more in Uber then perhaps it is good to pick Uber... But if it is only slightly more at Uber, then staying in Apple is a wiser choice...
