The recruiter conveyed to me today that my packet has been put on hold by the hiring committee, and suggested me to consider my other options. (I've an offer from Lyft (Self driving cars) and another I'm hopeful of getting from Dropbox). Is it worth waiting for the HC to arrive at a decision? How long does it take the HC to decide? Feeling so stuck up and frustrated.
It happened to me recently, they later(a week or so after I mentioned I had other offer) came up with SETI rather than swe. I rejected.
What’s SETI and why is it worse?
Software Engineer Tools & Infrastructure
What was the reason for the hold? I have a similar situation. But I have been asked to do more technical interviews with them as they want to gauge other things.
When were you asked to do the additional interviews? In my case, I'd conveyed right after the interviews that I was in a tight situation with the other options. I guess that's the reason the recruiter just provided me an interim update.
I was told immediately when I was called to update about the HC’s decision.
Really depends what you’re looking for in your career. Personally I’ve had offers declined literally at the last minute even after a verbal offer. Deal isn’t done until the papers are signed. I would start to think seriously about other offers. FWIW, everyone I know at DBX is very happy w the work environment. Lyft might have more short term financial upside, but who knows
Wow. Why was it put on hold?
No idea. The recruiter didn't share any details, other than the usual BS that I'd be kept posted on the progress and all that crap.
