I applied for a UX role at Amazon the other day, as it was listed as remote. A recruiter reached out to me today to let me kjow that the job is no longer listed as remote, and asked if I was willing to relocate. I live ~60 miles from the NY Amazon office, but family obligations make it so that there is no way Id be able to commute there. Is Amazon UX typically flexible enough to still consider a remote role, or at least someone who could get to the office maybe once a week?
Just looking for a bit of insider culture with Amazon design I guess?
Its not culture you're looking for. Working remote depends on managers and senior leadership within an org. Lots of people work from home, but just depends. If you cant commute let the recruiter you want a remote role and will pass on this one if the manager wants someone in the office.
I am an engineer, not a designer, but I work fully remote.
Why not just ask your recruiter and they can give you the answer you’re looking for, friend
