Folks, I’m wanting to apply for a internal position within Apple under different org to be closer to family. I have a couple of questions.

1)I haven’t completed a year yet, will this be an issue? Can I still apply?

2)will my manager know if I apply on Internal Apple website? I’d rather keep it as a secret until an offer is made.

3)can I email the recruiter and hiring manager directly? Or follow protocol of applying on website?

4)what’s the best way to approach this? Can you share you’re experiences

I am a top performer in my group and was recently given a nice mid year bonus.

As per Apple policy you are required to inform your manager before applying. Also you can’t apply before completing a year at your current team

It is highly unlikely that another manager would make an offer without talking to your current manager first.

Most companies require internal coordination for internal transfers.

I see, how does the process work? Does the new manager have to give me an offer? Do I lose my RSUs and stuff?
