If someone wants to apply to Y Combinator who is on H-1b, do they have to transfer to a B-visa if they get accepted ?

Would like to learn from some first hand experiences, if any.

I did. Y comb is not an option on h1 or b1.

Just be a passive investor in the company and put the same on Y comb application. If you have other partners in the company who are technical and if they can work for 3 months, only list their names for 3 months bootcamp

On H1 you can only be a passive investor, you basically can't do any work for the company.

Of course applying to YC on H1b is possible . Usually O1 visa works out best.
If you get an admit there will be many specialized lawyers willing to help you
