He new governor had promised increased funding in a slow down year. This includes now covering illegals health insurance for $760 million.

Do you think the taxes will go up in California?

I would like to know why California schools are still so bad when there is a Democrat supermajority.

Obviously because school tests are racist.

There is a sweet spot for class sizes though and CA is way over it in most public schools.

Illegal immigrants should go back home. I don't get why we taking care of them so much. If I trespass into someone's house, is he supposed to feed me and treat me nicely? What the fuck is wrong with these dumb as fuck governors

    • Yeah, those illegals should be denied treatment! Freedom means freedom to spread preventable diseases!

Your metaphors don’t work. You can’t substitute your private property for a country.

    • Illegal immigrants are at home. Their home is here - it's just that they're at constant risk of arrest, but it doesn't stop this being their home.

  • Stop whining. It's no coincidence that the high wages are where there are high taxes. If you don't like that, go get a lower wage elsewhere.

Or get a high wage offer here and then move internally

    • I think Uber uses Cost of Living Adjustment data to adjust for that.

This is total crap. Wages are roughly the same in Seattle with far lower taxes.

    • How about Austin?

Austin has no income tax either. Wages don’t compare to SF/Seattle because there’s too little presence of top companies to compete for the labor there.
      Jan 10
    • That's my point. We're in an area of high labor demand and not quite as high labor supply. The supply of housing is low, and the amount of disposable money is high, so living costs are high. We're all fine, but non software people aren't, so we're taxed to help them. So quit complaining, because other areas with lower costs and lower taxes also pay lower wages.

You are not making sense. Yes, most areas with lower taxes also pay less. But not all areas with lower taxes pay much less. Seattle pays about the same but has zero income tax and much lower CoL. Which shows that high taxes are not a requirement for high wages.

CA will have a giant surplus thanks to Trump’s tax cuts and the exploding economy. So yeah, they will raise taxes some more and blame the R’s
