I sincerely believe they are not but just like every employee being acccounatble for their brand within company, they are responsible for their own reputation.
Higher IQs tend to favor facts and science, which are well known to be liberal.
Dude. Don't kid yourself. They're totally biased.
Have you ever been on Facebook? It’s a republican cesspool full of fake news
I very much doubt that but if it was, sign me up!
Facebook.com it’s free and full of 60 year olds complaining about Hillary and Obama
No. It’s just that SJWs are louder. Leftists are in principle incapable of building anything so the mere fact Google et al exists means they are mostly conservative.
Every generation goes through the same thing. Many many years ago people who were against slavery were considered “leftists” then people who were pro women’s right to vote were considered leftists. Same goes for civil rights, gay rights and every other movement. I wouldn’t say SJWs or antifa are an accurate representation of the general progressive ideology or beliefs. Just like KKK or alt right isn’t a representation of true conservatism. That doesn’t mean republicans or democrats won’t take advantage of these people to get into power.
The pendulum swung too far left. This is the alt-left, similar to the tea party. Surprise, it’s not hard to get people on board when you promise everything will be free for them
To answer the question. The organization itself is not. However there are people, and groups within the org that are far left. You only have to look at some of diversity programs and culture groups. I worked there for 2 years before leaving because my co team members would not stop with all the political action in the office. Loved the job, but did not want to hear all the complaining all the time. For anyone who does not believe this, go check out those videos showing the leadership taking polotics. All I can say is that an organization can try and keep values in the core but the leadership needs to demonstrate this by action. When was the last time you heard from any VP or C-level at Facebook or Google in the media supporting concervative values.
Doesn't the Twitter CEO support conservative (i.e. not SJW far left) values?
Nope, Jack Dorsey was just in the news praising Tulsi Gabbard and donating to the left. Check out the Vanity Fair hit piece a out it.
Here we go again
What do you mean? This is the type of bs you usually post
This question gets asked daily. Search Blind.
I think a lot of answers are missing the mark here. It’s not about intelligence or indoctrination. It’s really pretty simple and the explanation is in the names of the groups “conservatives” and “progressives” Conservatives by definition don’t like change. They tend to hold onto tradition and resist or even fear any new ideas, people, etc (I’m not arguing for or against, just stating the definition of conservative). Naturally, you won’t find many of these types of personalities in tech because tech is all about change and moving quickly. If you do, they’re likely in accounting and finance where they can use their strengths better. Again, not an intelligence issue just a personality fit issue. Progressives (liberals) tend to embrace change and diversity, and are far less prudent. You find lots of progressive mentalities in tech because, again, that’s what makes tech companies successful. Also not an intelligence issue as there are plenty of progressive thinkers that aren’t smart either. That’s the tech perspective but when you have a conservative or progressive mentality, it tends to extend into your personal and political views too. ie: conservatives fear changes to their communities, government policies, can sometimes fear new and different races and religions. Liberals, on the other hand, push for diversity and new, big ideas, without much vetting. Hopefully I’ve come across as a neutral perspective here.
The last thing I’ll add here is that the “new” conservative is much different than the pre-trump conservative. Identifying as a supporter of trump comes with connotations that you also support everything he says. I don’t think I need to recap some of the stuff he says but it should be very obvious why companies would avoid bringing those views into their culture at work. Toxicity aside, there are also a host of legal issues that come from hiring someone with a history of racist, sexist, or xenophobic public comments or social media activity. What happens if they mismanage a black employee? Lawsuit. What happens if they fire someone who’s Muslim? Lawsuit. What happens if they don’t promote any women? More easy lawsuits. No company wants that liability, no matter how smart or capable a conservative is, and even if the choice to fire or not promote someone is justified by performance.
Liberal vs. Conservative / left vs. right - these terms are somewhat lost anymore, and almost pointless to even use since it’s such a fluid definition (apparently). I do see signs that Google is taking an anti-Second Amendment stance. Regardless of where you stand politically, I think it should be concerning to all just how much power these companies have to alter and shape public perception. They could single handedly repudiate a political group or movement very easily.
To the morons parroting the “conservatives don’t like change” line: we’re fine with change, but not fine with stupid and reckless ideas. Conservatives do not “move fast and break things”. Therefore Google and social media companies naturally attract mindless progressives who are after their next virtue signaling high. These kinds of people have no fundamental values, so they’re fine tearing down the good in pursuit of the perfect.
This is a perfect example of what I was talking about though. You reject the most successful companies as groups of mindless individuals just tearing down everything “good” (unchanged) History always has conservatives but history always favors progressives with crazy ideas like electricity, cars, etc. No one remembers how rough the transitions were and no one remembers the names of conservatives who favored kerosene lamps or horse-drawn carriages. We worship the progressives though.
What is “successful” to you? Enslaving people to their phones and social media? Causing deep political divisions in countries across the world? Running a platform notorious for fake news and outrage culture? Success does not mean getting a fat paycheck and high stock value at the expense of others. Nor does it mean poisoning the well and then acting like you’re the water commissioner here to clean up the mess.
