FANG is not the name of four companies just like Silicon Valley doesn’t always refer to the place Palo Alto and San Jose. Fang refers to top tier tech companies that are relatively hard to get in , and most engineers want to get in (due to better pay, perks reputation etc). So yes, Uber and AirBnb are on par with FB and Google, which is often more desirable than Amazon.
