There are layoffs at most of the internet tabloid sites. As it should be.
The layoffs were deep. Some offices completely closed and where I work there was a 30% cut. My guess is this is closer to the real number as freelancers don’t factor in. The layoffs were leaked to the media along with the founders account of the situation which complicated everything. You’re entitled to like or dislike BuzzFeed but the reality is all digital media companies are struggling.
Do you think there will be more layoffs? I got hit up by a recruiter from BuzzFeed and debating if it’s worth pursuing. Do you see any chance the company will exit through IPO or acquisition anytime soon?
