I have been dating a Chinese girl for 2 years now. We live in Seattle and are both on H1B VISA. I want to take things ahead, but don't have a good idea of what to look out for in this inter-cultural marriage. Are there any other couples who have been through this? If so, I can post some specific questions in comments.
What do you want to know?
Don’t have a good idea of what to look out for. IMHO you should just stop thinking about marriage at this point and take a step back. 2 years in all honesty is the initial jam. Take your time and date for either 1 or 2 years more. Let the marriage happen, don’t push it.
Good friends of mine are Chinese woman, Desi man. Cute kid!
Also I can refer a good DJ and photog for this kind of multi-cultural wedding, if you get there.
You need to get a good idea of how traditional her parents are. If they are really traditional, you may have a bad time.
Just go for it.. life is short, have fun and experiment
Point: don’t get married before 40! Repeat, don’t get married before 40!
Indian guy here who dated multiple Asian women... I'd say go for it but make sure you two are on the same page.
pretty common these days
Have you seen the movie Harold and Kumar? It’s about an Indian and a Chinese that get along pretty well.
OP should propose at White Castle
Thought Harold was Korean ?
